Job Description

The Quality Control Manager (Medical Device) will:

  • Oversee and execute First Article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure part conformity
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, SOPs, and quality documentation
  • Verify job setups and part specifications against customer purchase orders in the ERP system
  • Monitor production quality in real time, assisting machinists and ensuring quality checkpoints are met
  • Lead MRB processes and investigate non-conformances and customer complaints
  • Maintain calibration records and manage inspection tools inventory
  • Support ISO 9001 and 13485 compliance, including audits and QMS documentation
  • Collaborate with production leads to ensure accurate job execution and quality standards
  • Provide training and guidance to inspectors and machinists on quality procedures
  • Track job progress and update ERP system with inspection results and job status
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency
  • Serve as a point of contact for quality-related customer concerns and uphold quality standards

The Successful Applicant

The successful Quality Manager (Medical Device) applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering
  • Experience with CNC Swiss machinery
  • Mazak preferred
  • Strong background in quality control within precision manufacturing (e.g., medical device, aerospace, or similar regulated industries)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems
  • Proficiency in performing First Article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Experience with ERP systems for job tracking and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, part numbers, and specifications
  • Skilled in using inspection tools such as pin gauges, thread gauges, and calipers
  • Experience investigating non-conformances (NCRs) and leading MRB processes
  • Understanding of calibration systems and maintenance of inspection records
  • Ability to create and follow detailed inspection plans and SOPs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring or training inspectors and machinists
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization
