My client is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead all quality assurance and quality control operations within a high‑volume, multi‑process packaging manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product quality, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring all production activities comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.

My client is a privately held U.S.-based packaging manufacturerspecializing inhigh‑quality, custom packaging solutions for consumer brands. They have grown into a multi‑facility operation known for its technical capabilities, in‑house production processes, and premium packaging designs

Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Quality Control Manager are:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Quality Control team, including technicians, inspectors, and quality specialists.
  • Oversee daily QC operations across multiple facilities and production lines, including corrugated, folding carton, rigid box, and thermoforming processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality‑related matters, both internally and with customers.
  • Manage and continuously improve the company's quality management system (QMS).
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain documentation including SOPs, inspection protocols, corrective action reports, and certification records.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures, sampling plans, and inspection criteria across all manufacturing stages.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA), CAPA processes, and cross‑functional problem‑solving initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, and Design teams to ensure manufacturability and consistent quality output.
  • Oversee incoming material inspection, in‑process checks, and final product inspection.
  • Ensure accuracy and proper use of testing equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges, dye penetration, adhesion tests, color measurement tools).
  • Maintain calibration schedules and verification processes.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Quality Control Manager will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment; packaging industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, CAPA, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing quality teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and interact directly with customers.
