Job Description

  • Helps develop quality control policies and assesses production constraints.
  • Works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and verifying the precision and accuracy of products and equipment.
  • Supports first article inspections and approves materials and final assemblies by verifying specifications, conducting visual and dimensional tests, and rejecting non-conforming materials.
  • Develops, maintains, and runs CMM programs; performs inspections at various production stages.
  • Inspects parts and audits products according to quality and process standards using visual, layout, dimensional, or non-destructive testing methods.
  • May perform root cause analysis for issues requiring corrective actions.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and customer specifications to determine inspection criteria.
  • Records observations and prepares inspection and testing reports.
  • Ensures corrective actions and deviations comply with reliability standards and documentation requirements.
  • May specialize in design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, or R&D as they relate to product or process quality.
  • May hold certifications in Lean and Six Sigma and apply quality tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of government and industry quality assurance standards.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience running and conducting inspection programs
  • CMM operation and programming experience (Experience with Zeiss Calypso is a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Background in electronics
  • Understanding of AS 9100 is a plus
  • Customer interaction experience
  • Must be ITAR compliant
