The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing all quality-related activities at my client's facility in the Chicago area. This role will lead a team of engineers, technicians, and supervisors to ensure AS9100 compliance, strengthen customer relationships, and drive improvements in defect reduction and response time across the site.

About Our Client

My client is a growing manufacturer of components for the aerospace industry, supplying parts for aircraft and other large machinery. Their recent success has been fueled by strong partnerships with leading aerospace OEMs. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking to expand their leadership team by bringing on a dedicated Site Quality Manager to enhance performance and implement standardized processes across the organization.

Job Description

  • Lead all quality personnel in day to day operations through work delegation, collaborative meetings, and planned scheduling
  • Train and develop engineers and floor personnel
  • Manage all aspects of the site Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 standards
  • Lead internal AS9100 and AS13100 audits
  • Manage customer relationships including weekly meetings, corrective actions, and customer satisfaction
  • Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and others to maintain compliance and prepare adjustments for the product lines
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis on non-conforming parts and other arising issues
  • Lead the APQP process and oversee all related aspects such as SPC, Control Plans, and FMEAs
  • Identify areas for continuous improvements and leverage personal experience and six sigma techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Be a team player and assists with other tasks as needed for the good of the plan and company

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of Quality Management experience
  • Experience dealing directly with with aerospace OEM customers
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
  • Strong track record of developing talent, specifically at the engineering level
  • Experience with metal manufacturing processes, specifically precision machining
  • Desire to be hands-on and lead by example

  • Base salary between $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
