About Our Client

Our client is a machining manufacturer, with their products primarily consisting of automation, workholding, and remote handling solutions. While they do have stock products, most of their orders are customized. Our client is a subsidary of a larger, global organization HQ'd in Michigan. Job Description

Oversee and maintain a quality management system (QMS) that meets industry standards and customer requirements.
Lead and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring thorough inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
Monitor all production stages to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and non-conformances.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and project management teams to uphold product quality throughout manufacturing.
Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection reports, audits, and test results.
Plan and execute internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry certifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, AS9100).
Provide training and guidance on quality control procedures and best practices to employees.
Work closely with suppliers and customers to address quality concerns and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
Track and analyze key quality metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ensure strict adherence to safety and regulatory compliance in all quality-related activities.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management or quality assurance within a manufacturing or job shop environment.
Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO standards, and industry certifications such as AS9100, IATF 16949, etc.
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team of quality professionals.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and CAPA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to upholding high-quality standards.
Hands-on experience with inspection equipment and techniques, including CMM, calipers, and micrometers.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in CNC machining, aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing.
Quality Management certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma.
Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
