The Corporate Quality Manager will be a strategic partner to the executive team while providing hands-on leadership across operations

Job Description

  • Champion the consistent application of quality tools, systems, and processes across all business functions. Serve as the Management Representative for the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and maintaining coordination with registrars and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and direct teams responsible for inspection, QMS administration, certification and regulatory compliance, shop floor quality, and customer contract adherence. Oversee product quality and inspection activities for incoming materials, in-process operations, and finished goods, ensuring all customer-specific requirements are met.
  • Manage supplier quality and auditing programs to drive performance and compliance. Oversee internal audits for AS, ISO, and Nuclear standards, including audit planning, execution, corrective action follow-up, and auditor training and development.
  • Collaborate closely with production, sales, and engineering to align quality initiatives with customer expectations. Represent the company in discussions with customers and third-party auditors regarding specifications, capabilities, and quality performance.
  • Develop and track quality performance metrics that align with organizational and customer objectives. Lead structured problem-solving initiatives, drive corrective and preventive actions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all processes and systems.
  • Identify and address companywide quality training needs. Mentor internal auditors and team members to enhance quality knowledge, competency, and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Implement, maintain, and continually improve internal quality systems to ensure alignment with business goals. Oversee key processes such as certification and compliance reviews, corrective action management, layered process audits, and customer communication protocols.
  • Support customer, second-party, and third-party audits, ensuring thorough preparation, effective documentation, and successful outcomes in all external quality engagements.
  • Actively promote safety and support companywide safety initiatives. Partner across departments to reinforce a culture of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data-driven metrics to identify and eliminate waste, improving efficiency, accuracy, and overall operational performance. Participate in Lean and 6S initiatives to optimize workflow and strengthen quality outcomes.
  • Assist the Director of Quality in workforce planning and other assigned responsibilities. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a quality management capacity
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
  • Experience leading internal and external auditing processes
  • Experience implementing or improving upon QMS
  • Experience writing SOPs and work instructions
  • Experience within a job shop environment is preferred
