Job Description

The R&D Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Conduct research and development initiatives to innovate new product features and device designs.
  • Generate new product concepts either independently or in response to specific requests, and enhance existing products based on predicate devices.
  • Analyze prototypes and initial builds, and conduct requisite product testing.
  • Investigate predicate devices and associated indications for inspiration in developing new devices.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA and ISO testing regulations and documentation standards.
  • Incorporate feedback on prototypes to refine designs as necessary.
  • Assess research scope and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Develop and document technical specifications, sketches, drawings, and materials for comprehensive design packages.
  • Draft test protocols and reports to support product development.
  • Maintain and manage the R&D lab for optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Perform quality control testing on new and existing products.

The Successful Applicant

The successful R&D Engineer will:

  • 2-7 years of experience in the Medical Device industry in product development
  • Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering disciple
  • Be well versed in design controls and design reviews
  • Strong experience with verification and validations
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and experience with documentation
