Job Description

You will report into the Director of R&D and be responsible for:

  • Designing and testing mechanical systems and components to support product and process development
  • Supporting the development and sourcing of automated equipment, tooling, and fixtures
  • Leading project planning activities by tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables
  • Conducting root cause analysis and identifying opportunities for process or product improvements\
  • Planning and executing testing, validation, data collection, and documentation activities
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers during design and development
  • Producing CAD models and drawings for new concepts, equipment, and mechanical systems
  • Working independently while contributing to a primary cross‑functional project in a hands‑on R&D environment

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design or development within a manufacturing or R&D setting
  • A BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
  • A track record of supporting engineering projects and coordinating tasks or timelines
  • Solid modeling and drawing experience using SolidWorks
  • Experience working hands‑on with mechanical systems, testing, or equipment development
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and improving designs or processes
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, multitask‑heavy environment
