Job Description

  • Establish and maintain relationships with a select sponsors
  • Deepen existing sponsor relationships and develop new sponsor relationships including debt and equity capital raising, mergers and acquisition advisory and commercial banking activities
  • Deliver risk management (rates, commodities, foreign exchange), treasury management, wealth management and other products and services
  • Engage with investment banking and commercial banking teams to assure product and geographic partners have access to key decision makers within covered sponsors
  • Act as a responsible steward of the firm's capital, ensuring fidelity to risk management and underwriting standards
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in financial and banking products, financial markets, and regulations
  • Serve as team leader and deal architect in coordination with investment banking and commercial banking leaders and applicable product groups
  • Pre-screen financing opportunities originated from covered sponsors to assess feasibility and interest level
  • Collaborate with coverage and risk personnel to determine appropriate capital structure, and lead formation of the coverage team
  • Manage team members in early-stage due diligence and transaction review
  • Partner seamless in diligence process, management meetings, and documentation negotiation to ensure consistency of client service quality and compliance

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or other commiserate experience
  • JD, MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent designations preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of commercial and investment banking experience required
  • Significant prior experience in leveraged finance, capital markets, or M&A
  • Familiarity with technology, media & communications, healthcare, energy, retail and restaurants, or food and beverage verticals viewed favorably
  • FINRA licenses 7, 79 and 63 preferred, or will need to be obtained as part of employment
  • Formal Credit Training or commensurate underwriting experience
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Salesforce and MS Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
