Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsLead a well established and fast growing IPP's growth across US.Looking for a strong strategic leader across Commercial, Biz Dev., Development,About Our ClientInternational IPP 100's of MW of operating utility-scale Solar in the US, projects under construction, late stage development pipeline over 1GW, with earlier stage pipeline following behind.Job DescriptionThe Renewable Energy - Head of US - Remote will:Direct and coordinate the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.Oversee all activities for the U.S. business, working with other senior team members.Direct, plan and implement policies, objectives and activities of the business to ensure continuing operations, maximize returns on investments and increase productivity.Act as team leader for the U.S. business, appoint department heads and managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.Oversee and direct staff through day-to-day management of the local team, encompassing project delivery, asset management, finance, legal, administration, development and HR.Communicate with government officials on local policies, ordinances and regulations affecting the renewable energy sector.Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations and laws to shareholders and organization officials.Negotiate and approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal or state agencies and other organizational entities.Participate in discussions with local utilities at the management level and make decisions about project feasibility based on technical issues concerning industrial-type electrical services (electrical lines and transformer substations).Demonstrate high-level understanding of technical language related to industrial energy services, electrical transmission/distribution lines and transformer substations.Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.Manage projects from initiation to completion, including scope, contracts, scheduling, and budgets.Confer with the executive board members on company organizational matters and staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities and resolve problems.Apply industrial and electrical regulatory knowledge to understand and discuss legal/regulatory documents, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Interconnection Agreements, System Impact Studies, etc.Plan and execute strategic and tactical business development initiatives to increase profitability of solar generation projects.Create and oversee medium-term and long-term investment opportunities, including M&A opportunities in the U.S.Conduct due diligence to ensure projects meet financing and technical requirements (NTP condition precedents).Support across negotiations, prepare investment reports and project financing.Coordinate with the Head of Project Development to negotiate project documents with various stakeholders.Apply knowledge of U.S. tax equity structures to renewable energy projects and track record dealing with financial closing.Ensure and report that procedures followed adhere to company policy.Utilize knowledge of the renewable sector (manufacturers, O&M companies, etc.) to further business development throughout the U.S..MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
