Job Description

The Renewable IPP - Vice President of Development - Houston will be responsible for leading a team of 18 experienced developers.

  • Leading the strategy and business, investing in team members, and focused on corproate integration.
  • Oversee and fully own the development & interconnection businesses for the south.
  • As an executive-level representative of the company, you'll be required to effectively communicating project objectives and milestones to stakeholders to gain requisite project approvals and to build trust internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, local communities, and other key stakeholders to ensure advancement and derisking of the portfolio.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leaders across the organization as a member of the Leadership Team and push for continuity across groups to ensure efficient execution of business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 15 years of power development or comparable experience - at least 6 years in Renewable Energy in the US.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Mathematics required; MBA or other advanced degree desirable.
  • Strong background in leadership, strategic development ability, exposure to the full project life-cycle - land acquisition, through to COD.
  • Proven ability to work cross-departmentally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to represent the company at public and executive-level meetings.
  • Ability to write department strategic objectives with the company's goals.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -

  • Requires intimate knowledge of the energy, and if possible renewable energy market, and the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy.
  • Impressive track record closing renewable energy deals.
  • Existing professional relationships with local utility representatives, developers, government representatives and others.
  • Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate with new circumstances in a dynamic environment.

Bonus - 40-50%
