About Our Client

Michael Page is partnering up with an award winning luxury custom home builder in Dallas, TX who is looking for a Director of Operations to ensure efficient and effective daily operations of the company and its division.

Job Description

Key responsibilities of a Director of Operations include:

  • Operational Oversight: oversee all operational activities of the company, including project management, scheduling, procurement, quality control, safety, and logistics.
  • Manage construction operations teams to ensure construction time lines are kept and ensure on time deliveries.
  • Ensure all operational departments (estimating, sales, production, etc.) are functioning via the same SOPs and systems.
  • Create an environment where high safety standards are maintained, ensuring
  • compliance with safety regulations and ensure high customer satisfaction and standards.
  • Work with cross functional departments including Architecture, Design, and production to continuously reduce cost of construction.
  • Work with HR to performance manage the teams.
  • Ensure the Company's policies and procedures are known, and divisional personnel comply.
  • Work directly with the Purchasing Department to ensure bid process are followed and contracts are complete prior to opening new communities.

The Successful Applicant

  • A minimum of 10 years in the construction sector is required
  • Ideal candidates will have previously held positions such as Director of Operations, Regional Project Manager, or General Superintendent.
  • A Business or Construction Science (Building Science) Degree is highly desirable. Certifications in project management, leadership, or Six Sigma will also be considered a strong plus.
  • While our focus is on construction, experience in other industries will also be valued.
  • Candidates should have a history of working on large commercial construction projects or high-end residential construction with individual project costs exceeding $5 million.
  • For those from the production or speculative residential building industry, extensive executive level experience is a must.
