You will work closely with our clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Retail Project Manager:

  • Manage and oversee multiple national retail construction projects simultaneously
  • Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Manage project change orders and resolve project-related issues
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections
  • Ensure the safety of all workers and visitors to the construction site
  • Communicate regularly with clients and internal team members to ensure project success
  • Provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues
  • Ensure that all project team members are aligned and working towards the same goals
  • Anticipate and proactively manage project risks and issues
  • Analyze project data and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate project performance metrics to ensure successful outcomes
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members as needed
  • Attend project-related meetings and conferences as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome project challenges

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications for the Retail Project Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing national retail construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on clear and effective communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in project management software, such as Procore or PlanGrid
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed (minimal, 1-2 days every 2-3 months)
