Position Description

Oversee work of Scheduling team, project staff, or consultants assigned to scheduling function on one or more construction projects of varying size and complexity for the Business Unit. Prepare and maintain schedules, develop and review project baseline, and monitor and track scheduling project progress.Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and supervise project scheduling activities of Scheduling group (e.g., Scheduling Engineers, project staff, or consultants) across multiple projects.
  • Perform scheduling activities including monitoring, tracking progress, and preparing summary and detailed schedules.
  • Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Communicate project execution plan, monitor performance against baseline schedule and forecasts, and identify risks early.
  • Develop construction schedules throughout all project phases, from RFP/Project Launch through Substantial Completion/Final Turnover.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Commissioning, Procurement, and Construction teams to prepare detailed schedules.
  • Integrate BIM, 4D models, and logistics planning with VDC.
  • Incorporate Last Planner System (LPS) methodology into project schedules.
  • Perform monthly progress updates with narratives, target comparisons, and look-ahead schedules.
  • Develop and update cost/resource-loaded schedules.
  • Conduct schedule reviews with leadership and provide Scheduling Dashboard statistics at Operations Review Meetings.
  • Support Business Development and marketing activities for proposals and provide scheduling contract language.
  • Provide training on scheduling software and techniques to project and office employees.
  • Ensure consistent application of company Scheduling Playbook policies and procedures.
  • Engage with clients as a Planning and Scheduling SME to educate and influence expectations.
  • Conduct site progress walks to capture and verify progress for schedule updates.
  • Perform audits of project schedules using diagnostic tools to validate health and quality.
  • Implement advanced techniques (e.g., weather conditions, TIAs, cost/resource loading) to identify risks and delays.
  • Provide historical schedule information for claims when required.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field, with minimum 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing large construction projects ($100M+).
  • Scheduling Certification desired (AACE PSP or PMI-SP).
  • Experience in construction project engineering and supervisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and scopes of work to build schedules.
  • Proficient in scheduling software (Oracle Primavera P6) and diagnostic tools (Acumen Fuse, Change Inspector).
  • Advanced experience in gap analysis and managing scheduling risks.
  • Familiarity with earned value concepts and productivity validation.
  • Ability to develop metrics and track results.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement methods (Lean Construction, Takt).
