Senior Accountant - Biotech - Hybrid Schedule

Our client's Accounting and Finance team is growing and they are seeking a Senior Accountant with clinical accounting experience to perform key elements of the monthly general ledger close and carries out transactional accounting for Company operations. The Senior Accountant must have a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, and a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities include:

• Perform assigned daily accounting transactions, and work with the accounting team members, to support departmental or corporate goals
• Drive the clinical and R&D study reconciliations and variance analysis including, but not limited to, preparing monthly journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Review contracts, setup and maintain CRO, CMO, or other R&D study workbooks
• Interact and own cross-functional communication with internal clinical project managers, or external vendors to determine and prepare monthly accruals
• Assist in developing and maintaining strong internal controls to comply with SOX 404
• Assist with financial statement audits and quarterly reviews by providing requested supporting schedules and documents to auditors
• Continuously support improvement of accounting processes to make work more efficiently
• Perform other related duties and assist with special projects on an as needed basis
