The opportunity is flexible in terms of work schedule (a mix between working in the office and at home). The Finance Team is growing due to company success and there will potentially be equity/shares on offer to new starters.Job DescriptionOur client's Accounting and Finance team is growing and they are seeking a Senior Accountant with clinical accounting experience to perform key elements of the monthly general ledger close and carries out transactional accounting for Company operations. The Senior Accountant must have a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, and a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities include:Perform assigned daily accounting transactions, and work with the accounting team members, to support departmental or corporate goalsDrive the clinical and R&D study reconciliations and variance analysis including, but not limited to, preparing monthly journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracyReview contracts, setup and maintain CRO, CMO, or other R&D study workbooksInteract and own cross-functional communication with internal clinical project managers, or external vendors to determine and prepare monthly accrualsAssist in developing and maintaining strong internal controls to comply with SOX 404Assist with financial statement audits and quarterly reviews by providing requested supporting schedules and documents to auditorsContinuously support improvement of accounting processes to make work more efficientlyPerform other related duties and assist with special projects on an as needed basisMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
