Job Description

As a Senior Accountant in the Client Accounting/Advisory Services (CAS) Department, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Outsourced Accounting Services: You will prepare financial statements, manage accounts receivable and payable, reconcile bank statements, and maintain accurate financial records for complex clients.
  • Payroll and Sales Tax Filings: You will be responsible for preparing and managing payroll tax and sales tax returns, along with payroll processing for your client portfolio.
  • Tax Notices: You will handle payroll and sales tax notices, ensuring they are managed efficiently.
  • Research: Work on complex payroll and sales tax issues, providing research to resolve any challenges.
  • Review: Review the work of associate-level staff, providing guidance and education to enhance their professional development.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial analyses and meet with clients on a quarterly basis to discuss their financial statements and business operations.
  • Client Engagement: Build and nurture positive client relationships by addressing their accounting needs, responding to inquiries, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Client Onboarding: Assist in the seamless onboarding of new clients, ensuring the gathering of necessary financial information, setting up accounting systems, and establishing reporting protocols.
  • Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by maintaining well-organized records and workpapers.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to ensure seamless service delivery and provide support to senior team members when required.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, workflows, and increase overall department efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong track record in similar roles. You will possess:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity at a CPA firm.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Yardi, and other major accounting software, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex issues and find efficient solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Passion for learning new technologies and applying them to support client needs.
