About Our Client

The Senior Accountant - Lifesciences will work for a Stage 3 Biotech Company located in the Greater Boston Area. The company itself is just Northwest of the City. Position will predominantly be based on-site and report to the Accounting Manager. Please review the job description and submit your resume for further consideration.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for assisting in the month-end closing process, audit support and preparation, accounting efficiency's and any additional projects as assigned.

  • Prepare and/or review journal entries and reconciliations and ensure accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and corporate accounting policy
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Assist with establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Accruals (general and clinical) and reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly internal reports
  • Assist and prepare SOX internal testing
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Assist with on-going commercial scale-up activities from the finance side of the house
  • Prepare supporting documentation and schedules as requested
  • Follow up with audit staff when they have questions
  • Assist with preparation and referencing of SEC documentation

The Successful Applicant

The Senior Accountant - Lifesciences should have the following skill sets and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field
  • CPA/Master's Degree preferred but not essential
  • 5+ years of Accounting or Audit tenure in the lifescience and biotechnology sector
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Commitment to working on-site not necessarily fully remote
