Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team as their Chicago branch continues to grow! Reporting to the Controller with tons of visibility to the CFO, you will be responsible for full ownership of the month-end close process for their most profitable branch, identifying process improvements and procedures within the accounting department.

Job Description

Some of the Senior Accountant Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage monthly close process
  • Journal Entries and General Ledgers
  • Monthly and quarterly reconciliations
  • ERP system implementation
  • Process improvements
  • Assist the Financial Controller and Senior Management in strategic planning
  • Weekly P&L reporting

The Successful Applicant

The Successfull Senior Accountant will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
  • CPA certification highly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting
  • Transportation, distribution, or logistics experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge (V-Lookup, pivot tables, macros, complex formulas)
  • Knowledge of GAAP
