Save JobEmail Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsWell known non-profit organization based in ManhattanAre looking for a Senior Accountant to join the teamAbout Our ClientA well known non profit organization based in ManhattanJob DescriptionThe role will involve:* Consolidation, review, and analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual financial data, including the analysis of variances and identification of unusual items to determine GAAP and company policies.* Periodic preparation and review/analysis of results using Peoplesoft to support the preparation of financial statements.* Review revenue recognition and capitalized accounting processes to ensure compliance with GAAP.* Manage monthly general ledger closing process, analysis of variance in revenue, and adherence to GAAP and FASB compliance.* Prepare and maintain financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, including work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.* Ensure effective internal financial controls are maintained in compliance with the policy and procedures and all legal or statutory requirements.* Prepare compliance, cash, and GAAP reporting.* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for multiple departments and service areas and work closely with third-party accounting firm related to the following to ensure timely adjustments are booked* Analyze financial data, examine statistical facts for discrepancies, and recommend changes* Maintain monthly Budget vs Actual analyses* Prepare and submits benefits remittance schedules* Prepare manual checks per approved request for signing by authorized staff* Attend, take notes, and follow up on deliverables at weekly department meetings, and monthly budget and financial review meetings* Provide support to team members regarding Bill.com and Peoplesoft inquiries* Coordinate the year-end financial audit, 990 preparation, and 403b audits, prepares schedules and provide support as necessary* Prepare monthly custodial account transaction reports MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
