You'll also drive cost analysis, support audits, enhance processes, manage sales tax, and play a key role in ERP implementation-making a meaningful impact across the business.They are looking for a candidate with a strong desire to grow within the company. In this role you will have significant visibility, the opportunity to take ownership of processes, develop professionally, and grow into the primary driver of the department over time.Job DescriptionPrepare and review periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)Lead close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysisMonitor and maintain accuracy of general ledger accountsEvaluate and record key reserves (e.g., bad debt, warranty, accruals, inventory-related estimates)Analyze inventory-related costs, including variances and obsolescence considerationsSupport revenue recognition for long-term or project-based work in line with applicable standardsOversee close and financial tracking across operations, projects, and inventoryCoordinate reporting submissions to a parent organizationAssist with audit requests by compiling support and addressing auditor questionsIdentify opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen internal controlsReview operational and project cost performance, highlighting key variancesTrack and report on order activity, including pipeline and backlog metricsEnsure accuracy and consistency of inventory costingPerform ad hoc cost analysis and support cost optimization initiativesProvide backup support across transactional accounting functions as needed (AP/AR)Handle indirect tax compliance, including sales tax filings and reportingContribute to system implementations and process improvements within the ERP environmentMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
