Job Description

Perform more substantive and client facing work than is typical for a Paralegal in a law firm setting including varied case related duties requiring specialized knowledge and skills in employment-based immigration matters, specifically PERM
Be fluent with case management and other reporting tools and technologies used to manage data and information
Develop and recommend solutions and process improvements to clients, including developing billing strategies, provide guidance on DOL timelines and concurrent recruitment strategies, provide analytical work authorization forecasting, and develop long-term strategy plans related to the intersection between NIV and IV matters
Work with moderate supervision and guidance and be accountable for individual results and their impact on the team
Work with clients and PERM stakeholders to intake cases, troubleshoot issues, and establish case strategy
Analyze case documents and liaise with international teams to review case documents and prepare immigration applications for submission/filing with the appropriate government agency
Draft petitions, applications and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits.
Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues
Assist with the review of cases
Assist in the hiring and training of new team members and identify ways to improve team productivity and office-wide projects
Oversee status of cases through utilization of case management and billing systems
Work closely in team environment and provide updates while building knowledge of firm and client processes
Receive continuous training and development on requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or Paralegal Certification
4 years of business immigration experience (i.e. paralegal), including 2 years of experience developing and implementing PERM strategies including the following: Prevailing wage analysis, max-out issues and timing, PERM Recruitment - documents and new client processes, Green card timeline for a diverse population of foreign nationals
3 years of client-facing experience communicating with stakeholder at all levels, including foreign nationals, client contacts, managers, and representatives from state and federal government agencies
Possesses advanced knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes
Experience using various computer systems, including Microsoft Excel
Utilizing management information systems to present and navigate high volume data for docket management, client reports, and analysis
Managing a docket of at least 50 active cases
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and develop high-level solutions with the attorney team to respond to case escalations
Objective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to contribute to positive work environment, effectively collaborate and promote teamwork
