About Our Client

My client is a local construction management/owner's rep firm that partners primarily with local municipalities, school districts, and commercial clients to build a variety of different facilities in and around the St. Louis area. They collaborate with their clients from early stage, gathering architects and engineers for the design and initial schematics. From there they take the project to market hiring general contractors who will assemble the rest of the subcontractors and field crew to produce the project. The typical size for the projects they work on can range from $5M to $30M in scope. They pride themselves on having a great company culture with a laid back atmosphere and flexible working conditions. There are opportunities to work from home 1-2 days per week as needed. In addition to the office culture, they have an excellent compensation and benefits package as well. Because of their recent growth and planned future growth, they are looking to add qualified senior talent to their project management team to help develop client relationships, become a leader, and mentor newer employees to the business.

Job Description

  • Partner with clients from design phase assisting with architect and engineer selection
  • Work with the architects and engineers to assess any potential risks, changes, and general cost estimates
  • After establishing the baseline blueprints and engineered plans, take the project to market to find the best general contractor for the project
  • After general contractor selection, work with them to assess timelines, budgets, schedules, field crew, and subcontractors
  • Stay updated on project timelines and changes
  • Communicate effectively with the general contractor as well as the client
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients to secure repeat business

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally 7-15 years of experience with a Construction Management firm or General Contractor
  • Project experience in commercial building- ground up and/or interior renovations
  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Communicative and organized
  • Knowledge of complete construction process, including estimating and design
  • Familiarity with project management software
  • Prior experience with construction documentation: changes orders, permits, RFIs, Blueprints, etc.
  • Sales/Business Development oriented individual
