As part of their expansion, they are looking to bring on a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team!As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will take the lead on various financial management and reporting tasks. Working closely with the Director of Manufacturing and the Global Controller, you will oversee key accounting processes for the month-end facility close. Additionally, the Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing production order processing, inventory provisions, cost center allocations, accruals, and reconciliations. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to drive and support multiple initiatives while serving as the primary finance contact at the plant level, with backing from the enterprise accounting team.Job Description Senior Cost Accountant Job Responsibilities:Maintain accurate inventory costs across all U.S. locations.Develop cost estimates for new products to support business managers.Analyze manufacturing and purchasing variances to reduce costs and optimize production.Prepare and distribute inventory reports, ensuring stakeholders understand key insights.Collaborate with international locations to align processes.Work with accounting to:Support a one-day close process.Close material inventory ledger and complete cost allocations in the ERP system.Perform timely inventory reconciliations and analyze reserves.Assist with external audit requests.Lead the annual standard cost-setting process and partner with Operations to establish labor and overhead rates.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
