About Our Client

The Senior Director of Special Events:
Works with the Director and Producers to implement event concepts for each gala including entertainment, décor, menus, ticket and table sales and auction items
Supervises project teams including staff, consultants, and volunteers
Establishes timelines for specified events, including, deadlines and milestones
Works with the Director to establish income and expense forecasts for events, drives, monitors and delivers $1.5M in revenue
Drafts correspondence and coordinates appropriate solicitation mailings to donors, corporate event sponsors, event leaders, committees, in-kind donors, etc.
Reviews and negotiates vendor contracts
Manages event logistics
Develops volunteer leadership and corporate support for designated events
Oversees auction solicitation: cataloging items, ensuring national and international shipping and donor fulfillment
Develops event-related print materials, e.g., invitations, programs, auction catalogs, etc. in coordination with the Public Information Department
Ensures appropriate security measures for events
Anticipates and attends to special needs of celebrities and VIP guests
Provides event status updates to Director and other departments as needed
Debriefs team after each event and updates procedures and processes where necessary
The Successful Applicant
At least 5 years of technical event production and management experience.
Experience working with clients and sales teams, creative teams, production companies and a variety of vendors.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Acute attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Positive, can-do attitude, creative problem solver and a team player
Bachelor's degree required
