About Our Client

The Senior Finance Analyst - Manufacturing will work for a well-established, global, publicly traded manufacturing company located near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The position will report to the Director of Finance and is a newly created position partnering with a growing manufacturing division. The Senior Finance Analyst - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Support monthly financial reporting and analysis for the manufacturing business
  • Development of enhanced financial models to support both internal and customer reporting
  • Gathering and analyzing information to populate weekly / monthly KPI's, providing explanations for variances and driving reduction in variances
  • Management of spending data in order to understand trends and assist in the budgeting process.
  • Support location management with cost improvement programs
  • Developing processes and solving process issues pertaining to reporting, project cost analysis
  • Advanced management of current program costs, budgets and associated average part prices
  • Effectively present analysis findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Supporting Director of Operations with reporting and business analysis needs
  • Supporting Director of Operations with data analysis needs to forecast, identify trends and solve business problems
  • Variance management (actuals vs. plan/estimates) plus managing estimated costs to complete
  • Advanced financial management of average part costs, labor and material variances and trends (forecasted vs actuals), engineering milestone status, etc.
  • Management of month/quarter end finance activities through revenue recognition on cost-plus contracts
  • Tracking and financial management of current activity
  • Support the business unit management team in monthly forecasting and preparation of budgets

The Successful Applicant

The Senior Finance Analyst - Manufacturing should have the following qualifications and skill sets:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field or equivalent
  • 4-8 years of operations and / or financial analysis tenure
  • MBA, CPA and/or CMA a plus
  • Manufacturing background with a strong knowledge of cost accounting, GAAP, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Experience in project environment with exposure to cost-plus type contracts highly preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting and financial reporting; cost accounting a plus
  • Collaboration skills -- Able to effectively collaborate with peers in other functions and with colleagues in other businesses or divisions, effectively sharing knowledge sharing and best practices
  • PPI, Lean and or Six Sigma manufacturing concepts a plus
