About Our Client

We are currently working with a Medium Sized Manufacturing company that has been around for over 50 years. They have a newly created Senior Manager, FP&A position open reporting into the Director of FP&A. You will be a part of a 10 person Finance team and will eventually have direct reports to manage. This position will have tons of room for growth within the company and will be on site 5 days a week.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, FP&A - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as a primary financial resource across three primary operating campuses serving as a trusted business partner to the COO and other operating executives.
  • Applies principles of finance and accounting to various accounting duties related to the Product line and Strategic Business Unit's financial and operational planning and reporting, including customer & product line sales margins and related analysis.
  • Supervise local product line finance resources in place at multiple locations
  • Forecast, measure, report, and analyze variances in meeting Product Line Unit goals for key items including Orders, Sales, Gross Margin, and EBIT.
  • Responsible for the financial coordination, administration, and analysis of manufacturing operations. This involves analyzing sales and cost of sales and labor reporting.
  • Supports the coordination and analysis of direct labor and indirect labor staffing requirements, efficiencies, and related reporting.
  • Preparing recurring monthly journal entries related to manufacturing operations.
  • Track Goal Tree metrics and achievement.
  • Support actual to standard manufacturing variance analysis as follows:
  • Analyze and verify monthly labor utilization and efficiency.
  • Headcount management & analysis by function/category.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits.
  • Daily interface with manufacturing personnel and production planners.
  • Perform other related duties and specified projects including, but not limited to:
  • Support the Cost group on manufacturing processes in place at each plant.
  • Support the Plant Managers on any reporting needs.
  • Provide Commentary on Monthly Executive Reporting concerning all Manufacturing activities.
  • Track and report on Applied Absorption per Plant and Cost Center.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Senior Manager, FP&A will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance or accounting.
  • 10-15 years of finance/accounting experience with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • CPA, MBA, or CMA is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Excel.
  • Prior experience with Hyperion or similar planning tools (OneStream, TM1, Profix) required. Experience w/ with ERP Systems (Oracle or similar), GLWAND is a plus.
  • Prior experience within Defense & Aerospace industry is a plus.
  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience.
