Job Description

In this role you will report to the Director of Engineering and be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the development of innovative processes and technologies.
  • Defining manufacturing processes for small-batch custom materials and parts.
  • Managing critical projects, including capital investments, equipment installations, and upgrades.
  • Developing, improving, and implementing robust production methods and business processes.
  • Using engineering principles and statistical methods to analyze data and enhance processes.
  • Partnering with Quality Assurance to monitor yields and drive continuous improvement.
  • Evaluating, implementing, and supporting automated inspection systems and equipment.
  • Communicating with customers to understand needs and specifications.
  • Providing technical sales support and resolving customer issues.
  • Guiding and mentoring team members, including Engineering Technicians and junior Engineers.
  • Providing hands-on technical support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Collaborating with design and mechanical engineers to design and implement manufacturing fixtures.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues affecting quality or cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date process documentation.
  • Defining and validating process routers, work instructions, and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Conducting on-site quality checks and engaging in problem-solving activities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of hands on manufacturing experience
  • Lean/ Six Sigma methodology background
  • Data Analytics experience strongly preferred
  • Semiconductor experience a plus
  • Design and equipment knowledge
  • Glass or polymer background
  • ERP systems skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
