The company is roughly 100 people large and has been around for over 85 years!Job DescriptionIn this role you will report directly to the Director of Engineering and have the opportunity to:Designing and calculating ASME code-stamped pressure vesselsDesigning and analyzing industrial rotating equipmentSelecting and verifying mechanical components, including seals, bearings, motors, and pumpsGenerating and reviewing project documentation, including code calculations, design reports, stress and deflection analysis, tolerance analysis with GD&T requirements, technical specifications, CAD models and drawings for fabrication, machining, assembly, and customer reference, equipment and piping layouts, design and manufacturing strategies, and conceptual designs for prototypesDesigning lifting devices, fixtures, and tooling for large-scale manufacturing operationsCoordinating with cross-functional stakeholders (manufacturing, quality, etc.) to support project executionReviewing and verifying compliance with technical specifications for projects and componentsConducting finite element analyses (FEA) (structural and thermal) and presenting findings in reports or presentations tailored to diverse technical audiencesDeveloping and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, often in cross-functional teamsGenerating and reviewing quality procedures and departmental operating guidelinesOverseeing and reviewing related work from mechanical designers and less experienced engineersMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
