Senior Process Design Engineer - Manufacturing - Stamford, CT

The Senior Process Design Engineer will:

• Design and specify process equipment and supporting components needed for new or modified chemical manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with the Process Engineering Group to implement process improvements and capacity upgrades through the Engineering Change Notification system to enhance safety, environmental compliance, quality, and productivity.
• Support the Production team by training chemical operators on new and updated manufacturing systems.
• Develop and maintain process operating manuals and standard operating procedures consistent with Engineering Department requirements.
• Create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), material and energy balances, utility specifications, piping layouts, and control schemes for new or enhanced systems.
• Generate equipment layouts, sketches, instrumentation specifications, and utility piping routes for capital projects and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot existing processes and introduce improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase capacity or energy savings.
• Evaluate processes for safety, operability, and regulatory compliance, recommending modifications where needed.
• Conduct and support Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and assist with corrective actions from PHAs and incident reports.
• Oversee procurement of specialized production equipment and support systems.
• Prepare cost estimates, develop project schedules, and provide regular updates on project progress.
• Support scale‑up efforts from R&D and pilot operations to full‑scale production.
• Serve as a contributing member of the Safety and Health Committee.
