This organization is a contract manufacturing medical device organization in South Shore, MA. They have continued to grow their organization through instruments and implantable products in the health-care industry. This medical device business partners with customers to provide Design for Manufacturing consultation for precision-machined components across the country.

Job Description

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement equipment and tooling improvement ideas.
  • Perform project management responsibilities for assigned manufacturing changes or new product introductions, including facilitating and participating in project start-up teams.
  • Utilize proven lean manufacturing based analytical and troubleshooting/problem solving techniques to identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead-time reduction, inventory reduction and quality improvement through defect reduction.
  • Evaluate existing machinery and processes to recommend improvements that enhance both operator performance and ergonomics/safety of overall production.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement and continuous improvement projects.
  • Optimize floor layout, material flow, along with implementation of lean concepts; document improvements to manufacturing efficiencies, takt time, floor space utilization and overhead.
  • Develop or revise technical documentation to specify manufacturing processes; including documentation of equipment qualification, setup and maintenance procedure.
  • Provide accurate and complete engineering documentation.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Process Engineer will have what follows:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5 preferred.
  • Previous experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Statistical analysis for process improvement preferred.
  • Preferable to have an understanding of GMP for Medical Devices FDA 21 CFR Part 820 Quality System Regulation
  • ISO 13485 Medical Devices - Quality Management Systems or experience working in a regulated industry.
