This is a newly created position that will directly report into the Plant Manager of our clients Newark, NJ site. Role will oversee the 2 production shifts (1st & 2nd) and will be required to be on-site 5 days/week with a flexible schedule with hours per the needs of the business. Position will have 3 Direct Reports and 60 Indirect Reports across both shifts. Role will play a pivotal role in planning.

About Our Client

Client is a Global Food & Beverage Manufacturing Organization with a Portfolio of Brands sold through the Food Service and Retail Sectors. While this role will predominately sit out of the the manufacturing/bakery site in Newark, NJ - our client currently has 4 locations across the NYC Metro area with plans to continue to grow.

Job Description

  • Supervises staff to produce frozen desserts and organizes and monitors workflow.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Recruits, selects, onboards, trains, and mentor's employees.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish - Required
  • Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing plant - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
