Job Description

  • You will partner with the R&D Project Leads and work collaboratively with your global cross-functional project teams and early clinical development leadership to progress the R&D portfolio
  • Supporting R&D management with the creation and maintenance of integrated development program plans that articulate the asset strategy and provide foundation for operational objectives, deliverables, execution, and timelines
  • Lead program management activities for late lead optimization through development candidate selection, preclinical development, and IND-filing
  • Collaborate with R&D Project Teams and external contract organizations where applicable to create high quality project plans, execute and drive the delivery of project milestones on time and within budget
  • Constantly monitor ongoing projects for potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies with management and the relevant R&D teams. Identify, track, and support resolution efforts for all program-related issues and effectively communicate to relevant internal and external contractor teams via regular and ad-hoc status updates

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required plus 10 years relevant R&D experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery/development - scientific focused advanced degree is a plus
  • Higher degrees or certifications (e.g. MS., MBA, Master's degree in Project Management or PMP) also a plus
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated Project Management experience in pharmaceutical industry R&D
  • Experience with Oncology, Immunology, or biological therapeutics pre-clinical development is desirable
  • Proficient understanding of preclinical (early research through IND) R&D drug development processes in one or more drug modalities and biopharmaceutical industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with integrated timeline/Gantt chart development and technical experience with project management systems & collaboration tools is a plus (e.g. Planisware, Microsoft Project, OnePager Pro/Express, MS Teams, O365, Sharepoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to contribute to, and influence teams in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where speed is paramount
  • Self-motivating individual, driven by creativity and desire to execute to achieve impact through diligent work ethic, motivated by efficient translation of ideas into experimental execution with the objective to develop mechanism of action-qualified therapeutic products
  • Exhibit proficiency in self-management and organizational skills; able to manage workload, balance multiple projects in different stages, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; able to develop effective teamwork between team members with diverse styles
