Real Estate Development company heavily involved in commercial, residential and ground up construction projects.

Typical projects include ground-up development, acquisition and rehabilitation of existing apartment communities, and adaptive re-use of historic mixed-use buildings.

Job Description

  • Apply accounting and analysis skills to manage all aspects of accounting operations, general ledger transactions, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Understand and apply accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with the cash basis of accounting.
  • Process operational and construction vendor invoices per the approved budget and track actual against budget. Monitor and review variances in discussions with the controller and project development manager
  • In conjunction with Controller, execute all aspects of a tightly controlled accounts payable software ( to facilitate project controls and invoice approvals, timely payment and informative vendor management.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Support the annual audit process and project cost certification, and prepare accounting work papers and related tax schedules.
  • Analyze and prepare accounting records and transactions as projects transition from pre-development to development phase. Reconcile trial balances to closing settlement statements and ensure payoff of pre-development costs.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts to trial balances monthly.
  • Create development set of books in Intacct and close out the predevelopment account
  • Review construction draws in coordination with project development manager for alignment with construction budget execution.
  • Generate and coordinate all 1099's.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • Accounting: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Sage Intacct experience (Preferred)
  • CPA (Preferred)
  • US work authorization (Preferred)
  • Real Estate Experience (Preferred)
