Job Description

Senior Project Accountant:

  • Prepare, review and distribute complete billing packages that include an invoice, sworn statement, waiver of lien, AIA G702/703 and any other necessary documents as dictated by the owner contract
  • Work with internal project team to deliver projects on budget
  • Responsible and accountable for confirming Certificates of Insurance (COIs) are on file and up to date for all subcontractors
  • Collect, review, and organize Waiver of Lien forms from vendors and subcontractors
  • Verify accurate job cost coding of Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
  • Upload project budgets into Construction Management Software
  • Provide support for Project Management Team for project forecasting as required
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial and project status reports
  • Collect, review, and process subcontractor monthly project invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely processing
  • Interact with title companies and lenders to secure payment
  • Maintain organized project files with respect to all contract billing
  • Serve as project accounting point of contact for clients, handling all communications in a professional and expedient manner

The Successful Applicant

  • 8 years in experience within the construction industry (either within a general contractor or subcontractor)
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting
  • Experience with a construction focused ERP tool (Jonas Premier preferred)
