They are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join their team in the Chicago office.Job Description Senior Project Accountant Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with the project team to review payables, including subcontracts, purchase agreements, contracts, and change orders.Contact and coordinate with stakeholders to request and follow up on project payout details and receivables.Generate progress billings for projects using various methods, including supporting documentation such as transaction, cost, and certified payroll reports.Compile, review, and send complete billing packages, including invoices, sworn statements, lien waivers, AIA forms, and any owner-required documents.Receive, verify, and process monthly invoices from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate accrual to the correct cost reports and phase codes.Create voucher slips with relevant details like cost codes, vendor numbers, and net amounts for entry.Post finalized billings upon receiving approval from the Owner or Project Manager.Monitor and report insurance costs to the Accounting department along with monthly billings.Make follow-up calls to vendors and subcontractors as needed to resolve outstanding issues.Gather, review, and distribute subcontractor lien waivers and supporting documentation for payments.Maintain professional and prompt communication with clients and subcontractors.Oversee project accounting activities across multiple projects.Perform additional project accounting duties as assigned.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
