Job Description

The Senior Project Manager Will:

Key Responsibilities:



  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the project team, including assistant project managers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all aspects of the project are completed effectively and efficiently.


  • Budget & Financial Management: Develop, manage, and track project budgets. Ensure cost control measures are in place to avoid project overruns and review financial reports regularly to identify any discrepancies.


  • Scheduling & Timeline Management: Create detailed project schedules, track progress, and ensure that milestones and deadlines are met. Adjust schedules as necessary to keep the project on track.


  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and effective communication regarding project progress, scope changes, and any issues that arise.


  • Contractor & Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and coordinate subcontractors and vendors. Ensure that all parties are aligned with project goals, timelines, and quality standards. Negotiate and enforce contracts, terms, and conditions.


  • Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the project. Ensure that all construction work is completed in compliance with the project's specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.


  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks throughout the project and take proactive steps to mitigate them. Manage change orders and issues that arise during construction.


  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety protocols. Foster a culture of safety on the job site.


  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular project reports for upper management, clients, and other stakeholders. Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and daily logs.


  • Team Development: Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the field.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Project Manager will have the following:

  • 10+ years' experience in Commercial Construction Project Management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field strongly preferred


  • Additional Skills:


    • Expertise in project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, etc.)


    • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and clients effectively.


    • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.


    • Knowledge of construction contracts, building codes, and industry regulations.


    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.


  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED accreditation is a plus.


  • Other Requirements:


    • Strong understanding of all phases of commercial construction, including pre-construction, construction, and closeout.


    • Ability to travel to project sites as required.


    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
