Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsAdvancement OpportunitiesCompetitive Base SalaryAbout Our ClientMy client is is an industry-leading utility construction firm providing critical infrastructure construction and maintenance services for the power, oil & gas pipeline, gas distribution, and communication markets throughout North America.Job DescriptionDirect and manage all phases of complex gas utility projects including distribution main and service installations, replacements, upgrades, and emergency response.Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, ensuring clear communication, strong relationships, and consistent delivery of client expectations.Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and field teams to align project milestones and resources.Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project scope and quality.Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing company and regulatory safety protocols (OSHA, PHMSA, etc.). Lead regular safety meetings and audits.Supervise and mentor project engineers, foremen, and field personnel. Promote professional development and ensure alignment with project goals.Identify and manage change orders, scope adjustments, and unforeseen field conditions. Negotiate and communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors.Ensure proper documentation of contracts, RFIs, submittals, and project communications. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantMinimum of 8 years in utility construction, with at least 5 years in a senior-level project management role specific to gas infrastructure (distribution and/or transmission).Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.OSHA 30, PMP preferred. Familiarity with Operator Qualification (OQ) programs, DOT/PHMSA regulations, and local utility specifications.Strong understanding of gas pipeline construction practices, trenchless technologies, pressure testing, safety standards, and environmental requirements.Experience with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), cost tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Proven ability to manage large project teams and subcontractors across multiple job sites.
