Our client is an Austin-based digital health company that provides dental organizations of all sizes-from small startups to large enterprises-with thoughtfully designed membership programs to make dentistry more approachable. Job Description

  • Work closely with the rest of the team to architect well-engineered, scalable solutions to challenging technical problems.
  • Mentor and support junior developers both local and remote in sustainable software engineering practices, lead by example.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in Product Management to estimate projects, break down work, and present alternative approaches for evaluation.
  • Be a thought leader on the team, advocating best practices in security, testing, and maintainability.
  • Ruthlessly seek out process and technical inefficiencies, expose them and propose ways to resolve them.

The Successful Applicant

  • S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Solid grasp of software design patterns and object-oriented design principles
  • Strong software architecture foundational knowledge
  • Understanding of security best practices
  • 5+ years experience writing highly scalable web applications
  • 5+ years experience with PHP (Laravel, Symfony preferred)
  • 5+ years experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, AWS Aurora preferred)
  • 3+ years experience with CSS & CSS precompilers (SASS preferred)
  • 3+ years experience with Javascript frameworks (React preferred)
  • 2+ years building or maintaining REST APIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States



Bonus Points

  • 2+ years experience deploying containerized or serverless infrastructure
  • 2+ years experience managing AWS infrastructure
  • 2+ years CI/CD pipelines experience
  • 2+ years experience with NoSQL (Redis preferred)
  • Experience with Java and/or Python
  • Experience with Agile Scrum practices and tools
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development
