The Senior Strategic Buyer - Plastics/Metals is responsible for managing the procurement of plastic and metal raw materials, components, and services. This role focuses on optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring supplier performance aligns with company objectives.

My client is large global privately held manufacturer within various industries. This is an exciting opportunity to hold the sole purchasing strategy and spend for a division of their business.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for plastics and metals.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with global suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and logistics teams to meet material requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Manage inventory levels and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Manage suppliers through supplier visits, auditing etc.
  • Work closely with production, engineering and other procurement teams to ensure production targets are being met
  • Source and on-board new suppliers
  • Make cost savings recommendations to leadership team

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably with plastics and metals.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and global supply chains.



What's on Offer

Targeting compensation for the Senior Strategic Buyer is $90,000 - $115,000 base salary + Bonus. Compensation is commensurate with candidate's experience.
