About Our Client

Our client is a dynamic solar developer focused developing utility-scale solar and storage projects across Midwest and Southeast region of the US. They have developed over 2 GW of projects and are actively building out their pipeline of projects across the US.

Job Description

The Solar and Storage- Project Developer will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, selecting, and analyzing potential sites utilizing GIS tools
  • Conduct landowner outreach, lease agreements, and contract negotiations
  • Manage and coordinate with Third party EPC consultants
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of the permitting and interconnection process within MISO and PJM markets
  • Maintain an thorough understanding of the regulatory and policy environments in assigned market(s)
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify new project opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends and policy changes.
  • Collaborate with our financial team to secure project financing, grants, and incentives to optimize project economics.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ability to travel 25%-40%
  • Ideally based in Richmond, VA but open to candidates based in surrounding states

The Successful Applicant

The Solar and Storage- Project Developer will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 3+ years experience within the renewable industry or utilities industry
  • Exposure to utility-scale solar and/or BESS projects
  • Seen projects from inception to NTP (ideally)
  • Good understanding and experience with permitting and zoning laws
  • Relationship-oriented
  • Comfortable being "hands-on" and "boots on the ground"
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, legal knowledge, and successful contract management
  • Experience managing interconnection processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Well-rounded project management experience
