The Estimator - Commercial, Industrial, Multifamily, Healthcare, Mission Critical, & Automotive Construction - will process Purchase Orders, facilitate the bidding, squaring up bids, selecting trades and suppliers who perform well at competitive prices with production team, execute contracts in an efficient manner and oversee creation of master purchase orders to pay all construction billings timely, efficiently and accurately.

My client is a general contractor who focuses on the Education, Retail, Mission Critical, Healthcare, and Industrial markets. They foster design-build relationships with their clients to add value. They are in the midst of a successful 5 year strategic growth plan allowing for the intake of larger projects.

Job Description

Reporting directly into the VP, the main duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Estimator will include the following:

  • Estimate from both concept designs and complete designs
  • Assist design team with budgetary pricing at various stages in design development
  • Completion of all aspects of project bidding including plan and specification takeoff, vendor contact and tracking, bid form completion, pricing, bid review and submission
  • Scope and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the development, updating and implementation of an estimating database with assemblies
  • Assist or lead the process of implementation of estimating program software system
  • Maintain a cost history data base
  • Review estimates with design team and/or construction team
  • Interact with clients and design team as needed to evaluate conceptual and detailed estimates
  • Assist Project Manager with project budget set up once projects are awarded

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive compensation package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field plus related experience
  • 5+ years in conceptual estimating
  • MEP experience is a plus
  • Hands on construction experience
  • Projects will be focused on Education, Healthcare, Retail and Industrial work
