The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be an integral member of the Engineering group, leading NPI and LEAN/Six Sigma initiatives for my client's fast-growing operation in IL. The key project out of the gate will be leading the launch of a cutting edge, high-tech automated assembly line for an exciting new product line.

Job Description

  • Spearhead the launch of a new automated assembly line, including implementing machinery, establishing SOPs/Work Instructions, and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to meet quality and compliance requirements
  • Lead/participate in projects to improve processes, reduce downtime, and improve safety
  • Perform time studies and line balancing
  • 3D modeling for the design of plant floor layouts and setup of new machine cells
  • Implement new machinery and tooling for production as needed
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality and Product Engineering to support new product launches, perform PFMEAs, and address production issues
  • Play a key role on APQP team, ensuring feasibility and quality of manufacturing new products
  • Assist with value stream mapping

The Successful Applicant

  • BS in Engineering or Industrial Technology
  • 7+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, exposure to electronics manufacturing/electrical assembly highly preferred
  • Experience leading the launch of automated assembly lines is required
  • Experience leading and/or participating in continuous improvement projects
  • Comfortable/familiar in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Safety background
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Base salary $110,000 - $125,000 depending on level of experience
