I'm currently partnered with the Corporate Controller at a multi-million dollar, well-known manufacturer in Chicago, IL. This company is rapidly growing through key strategic business decisions, and due to this immense growth, they are now looking to bring on a Staff Accountant.

Job Description

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Partake in the implementation, and maintenance of the accounting systems, procedures, and policies
  • Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external partners in providing the required information
  • Perform key accounting procedures including month-end closing, financial statement preparation, inventory, fixed assets, and more
  • Audit the work of the staff to develop and maintain a combination of generally accepted accounting systems
  • Oversee the basic accounting procedures such as general ledger and inventory control
  • Assist in the management of financial statement preparation and month-end and quarterly close
  • Monitor and review all record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions
  • Support the Director of Finance & Accounting with external auditors during year-end and interim audit for costing and inventory matters
  • Assist month-end and year-end physical inventory counts
  • Assist in implementing continuous process improvements with respect to ERP system and accounting procedures
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts while preparing quarterly reports for management
  • Perform analysis of operations on a monthly basis
  • Ad hoc projects as requested

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience interacting cross-functionally with different departments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
