Job Description

  • Supports Financial Operations Manager in the preparation of analysis and information requests;
  • Processes expense reports and invoices in Chrome River;
  • Creates cost batches;
  • Prepares wires and checks;
  • Ascertains the accuracy of coding for receipts and approvals for expense reports and invoices;
  • Prepares cash and billing reports included in the weekly financial package;
  • Assists with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, analyzes accounts such as pre-paids, accrued expenses, records journal entries and maintains accurate supporting analysis and documentation;
  • Researches, analyzes and resolves questions relating to financial transactions;
  • Interacts with non-accounting staff and reviews daily transactions;
  • Performs timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, and financial statement analysis through to preparation of internal and external reports;
  • Maintains integrity of balance sheet accounts through review of account activity and balances for accuracy and reasonableness, and prepares adequate supporting audit schedules;
  • Analyzes P&L trends and investigates discrepancies;
  • Assists with Chrome River support projects;
  • Assists with Elite financial system upgrades;
  • Participates in completion of interim and year-end audit work; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required;
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferably in accounting, auditing or tax within a professional service industry;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • Experience using Elite and Chrome River preferred;
  • Excellent grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information;
  • Capable of analyzing and solving problems and meeting strict deadlines;
  • Ability to interact with attorneys and staff in a professional manner;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time; and
