Job Description

  • Lead all phases of substation projects, from planning and design to construction and commissioning
  • Manage projects spanning 13.8kV-345kV, including distribution and transmission substations
  • Coordinate engineering teams for protection & controls, SCADA, and electrical design
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of major equipment (transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays)
  • Ensure compliance with safety, permitting, environmental, and utility standards
  • Collaborate with clients, utilities, and contractors to resolve technical and logistical challenges
  • Review and approve construction drawings, schematics, and project documentation
  • Support outage planning, site inspections, and commissioning activities

The Successful Applicant

A successful Substation Project Manager should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in substation or T&D project management
  • Strong knowledge of substation design, construction, and commissioning processes
  • Experience working on medium- to high-voltage substations (13kV-345kV)
  • Background in EPC or utility environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
