Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for supplier-related nonconformances.
  • Collaborate with engineering and purchasing to qualify new suppliers and assess capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain incoming inspection plans and supplier quality metrics.
  • Work closely with suppliers to implement process improvements and drive defect reduction.
  • Support product launches by ensuring supplier readiness and quality planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of supplier performance, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the supply base and internal teams.

The Successful Applicant

The Succesful Supplier Quality Engineer will have:

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and supplier audits.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and FMEA for problem-solving.
  • Experience with supplier performance management and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including engineering and purchasing.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with suppliers and internal teams on quality issues.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to assess and improve supplier quality.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and product specifications in various industries.
  • Proven track record of managing and improving supplier relationships for long-term success.
