Job Description

  • Supplier Quality Oversight: Take ownership of the supplier quality management process, which includes the assessment, monitoring, and auditing of supplier performance. Develop and enforce quality standards and specifications to ensure suppliers consistently deliver products that meet or exceed these criteria. Implement and maintain supplier quality scorecards, conduct regular reviews, and initiate corrective actions as necessary
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive opportunities for process enhancements within the supplier quality domain. Utilize advanced quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to tackle quality issues and improve supplier processes. Lead initiatives to reduce defects, minimize variability, and enhance overall supplier performance, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and internal quality goals.

  • Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement. Facilitate communication to resolve quality issues, address supplier concerns, and ensure timely resolution of problems. Work collaboratively with these teams to integrate quality considerations into product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain strategies, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all supplier activities adhere to relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Develop comprehensive reports on supplier quality performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement. Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to drive strategic decisions and enhance overall supplier quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: Extensive experience in supplier quality management or a similar field, with a proven track record of successfully improving supplier performance, implementing quality systems, and leading quality initiatives. Experience in working with diverse suppliers and managing complex quality issues is essential.
  • Skills: Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of quality management principles and tools. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Leadership capabilities to guide teams through quality improvement processes and drive change effectively.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in quality management (such as Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or similar) are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Mindset: A proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to excellence and a passion for driving continuous improvement. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, handle multiple priorities, and make data-driven decisions.
