This role is responsible for the purchase of goods and materials, the management of services and to ensure that HT's operational needs are met. This position will focus on price, quality, and delivery to ensure the continuity of supply.

Job Description

  • Oversee and maintain inventory.
  • Researches, analyzes, and forecasts future buying trends, markets, styles and products with attention to specified target market and demographics.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers, while continuing to evaluate performance.
  • Negotiates contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practices and methods.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels of supplies and communicate any supply or delivery problems or delays that may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advise of impact change on purchasing and production activities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
  • Deliver reports, develop presentations and updates as and when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of proven purchasing experience
    • Strong contract negotiation skills.
    • Experience with supplier management and assessment of services.
    • Ability to build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure positive communications.
    • Ability to assess and reduce costs and make business improvements.
    • Highly collaborative team member.
