Job Description

  • Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies that align with business objectives, cost reduction goals, and growth targets within the food and beverage industry.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand without overstocking. Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste, especially in perishable goods.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure competitive pricing, timely deliveries, and quality standards.
  • Logistics and Distribution: Manage logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks. Optimize delivery routes and storage solutions, particularly for perishable products.
  • Forecasting and Demand Planning: Lead the demand planning process, collaborating with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast product needs accurately. Ensure that supply meets demand while reducing excess inventory and waste.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all supply chain operations adhere to food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Maintain a high level of quality control and traceability for all products.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage supply chain costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Technology and Systems: Utilize supply chain management software to track performance, inventory, orders, and shipments. Leverage technology for process improvements and automation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Oversee staff training and development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for optimizing processes, reducing lead times, and enhancing supply chain flexibility to respond to market demands.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards related to food handling and distribution.
  • Proven track record in managing suppliers, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Experience with supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize processes.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
