They are a smaller and more collaborative tax team who goes into the office on a hybrid schedule.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Tax CompliancePartner with tax advisors to implement effective tax planning strategies.Support the preparation and review of individual, gift, trust, and business tax returns.Collaborate with accounting firms to develop and recommend quarterly estimated tax payments for clients.ReportingCreate detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and the family office leadership team.Consolidate and report on all family assets, track performance, conduct benchmark analysis, and manage an online reporting system.Prepare necessary documentation for account openings, transfers, subscriptions, redemptions, and other financial transactions.Estate PlanningCollaborate with legal and tax advisors to implement wealth transfer and asset protection strategies.Develop a comprehensive estate plan to preserve the family legacy and adjust it as needed to reflect changes in tax laws.Assist with annual gifting strategies and maximize lifetime gift exemptions.Charitable GivingSupport philanthropic initiatives and manage related processes.Oversee grant requests and the distribution of funds for charitable foundations.Assist in preparing the Form 990-PF and handle all relevant accounting, tax, and payroll tasks.MiscellaneousAssist with coordinating and overseeing third-party service providers, including investment managers, accountants, and legal counsel.Collaborate with financial institutions to secure lending facilities, such as credit lines and mortgages.Provide expertise and support to client teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to family office client needs and requests.Work with the broader Athena team to enhance and expand family office services.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
